As you read this email, the start of the Washington State Legislature is only days away.

And this is shaping up to be a MASSIVE YEAR for gun owners.

We need to stop Biden’s national AR-15 ban. But we need to pour pressure into Olympia, too, to stop mental health exams and civil liability insurance requirements for gun owners. 

And all of that is before we get to the 2024 elections!

I’ve been talking with legislators across the state for weeks gearing up for the start of session. The opportunities (and challenges) we are facing this year are big.

Ever the optimist, I want to engage in every political fight that is before us. But I must be realistic.

Based on the resources available to us right now, there’s no way we can engage in all of these fights at the same time.

You see, while gearing up for session, I’ve also been working with our whole team to review our cash on hand and to create the budget that we’ll need to be effective in 2024.

For the record, I hate budget meetings. 🙂

But that meeting is over, I know exactly what our cash on hand position is. And I know the political situation in Olympia a granular level. Now I have some decisions to make.

But this isn’t my organization.

This has always been a member-driven organization, and that is why I need to hear from you. Where do YOU want us to focus in 2024?

Where do YOU want us to spend the donor dollars that you have given us? I need your input.

That’s why I have prepared your 2024 Washington Gun Rights Membership Ballot and included it with this email. I hope you’ll read the letter and complete your ballot IMMEDIATELY!

Without a doubt, the biggest fight coming at the federal level this year will be over S. 25/H.R. 698: Biden’s long-desired total and complete ban on AR-15s and 30-round magazines.

This legislation has a jaw-dropping 250 cosponsors in Congress right now, with 208 in the House alone.

Banning AR-15s has nothing to do with stopping crime. The ONLY GOAL of this legislation is to disarm the American people once and for all. Biden is a tyrant. He wants to rule over America with an iron fist. But he can’t if we’re armed.

If this legislation passes — if the entire country adopts a Washington State-style ‘Assault Weapons Ban’ — we will never get these rights back and our government will turn on us.

This is what always happens to a disarmed people.

It is critical that we have the ability to hammer on our Republican Congressional delegation in D.C., as they may be the deciding factor on whether or not this bill gets 218 votes.

Dozens of Congressional Republicans betrayed us last year when they voted for Biden’s ‘Red Flag Funding Bill,’ so we can’t trust them. Worse, my sources on Capitol Hill tell me that one of our GOP House members is getting flaky on this bill, too!

We need to crank up the heat on our Congressional delegation this year. We can’t afford ANY betrayals.

So if you think our top priority in 2024 needs to be stopping Biden’s attempt to disarm Americans by banning the AR-15, please mark OPTION #1 “CRUSH THE AR-15 BAN” on your ballot.
 

But there are major fights shaping up in Olympia, too.

The biggest one of these will be over Jay Inslee’s plan of forcing you and me to submit to a mental health exam every single time we go to buy a firearm!

No, this is not a joke. Our sources indicate that this bill could be filed in the first week of session and that it will be patterned after identical legislation on the move in New York!

Washingtonians are used to dealing with non-stop gun control bills coming out of Olympia. But Inslee wants to unleash a tyranny unlike anything we’ve ever seen here in Washington! 

You see, Inslee and the Commies here in Olympia want the ability to snap their fingers and disarm their political opponents without having to convict us in court.

And these bogus mental health tests are the tool they need to do exactly that.

Because let’s face it: if you admit to loving our country, our flag, our Second Amendment, or our Founding Fathers, you’re not going to pass this ‘test.’ In fact, you’ll likely be labeled a domestic terrorist by the Biden Administration.

Of course, Inslee will claim this is a public safety measure that is designed to keep us safe. What a tyrant.

Jay Inslee’s liberal policies have caused our violent crime rates to spike to numbers that we’ve never seen!

Our statewide murder rate spiked an astounding 17% last year! Aggravated assaults have exploded, too!

And it’s not just Seattle. Tacoma saw a 25% rise in violent crime last year! Everett also saw a 25% rise in violent crime. And the list goes on and on.

So now that he’s created the problem, Inslee is trying to sell the cure in the form of a mental health exam for gun owners. If this passes, you and I won’t be approved.

It’s that simple.

But my sources tell me that there are multiple Democrats in both chambers who are scared that voting for such a Stalinesque bill will cost them their jobs in November.

If we fight hard, we may be able to stop this.

So if you think our top priority in 2024 needs to be stopping this insane legislation, please mark OPTION #2 “DEFEAT MENTAL HEALTH EXAMS FOR GUN OWNERS” on your ballot.
 

But Inslee has other agenda items, too, that are just as devastating to law abiding gun owners.

The second bill we’re told Inslee wants to pass might sound less dangerous, but as you are about to read, if anything, it would disarm even more of us!

This new legislation would make it a FELONY CRIME for you to own a firearm in Washington State unless you purchased civil liability insurance beforehand!

How many murderers in Seattle will carry this insurance?

How many rapists in Tacoma will carry this insurance?

How many armed robbers in Spokane will carry it?

It’s absurd, of course. This legislation won’t stop a single criminal. Its only goal is to make it harder for everyday Washingtonians to be able to keep and bear arms.

This is blatantly unconstitutional.

In addition to being unconstitutional, it’s not practical. Don’t forget, it was Washington State that made it a crime to sell this kind of insurance in the first place.

Deemed ‘murder insurance’ by Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler and Governor Inslee, the company selling this insurance was fined and run out of the state. So, even if we wanted to comply with this, we couldn’t!

Could we overturn this legislation in court? Maybe.

But that would take years.

In the meantime, it would be illegal for law abiding gun owners in Washington to buy firearms! And if we think crime is bad now, it will explode to levels that we’ve never seen before!

We need to hammer away at vulnerable Democratic politicians in tough districts. That means digital ads, mass email programs, uncensorable direct mail, texting programs and much more.

But we need your help to do all of this.

So if you think our top priority in 2024 needs to be stopping this legislation, please mark OPTION #3 “CRUSH CIVIL LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS” on your ballot.

But it would be a mistake to forget about the legal action that we are taking against the ‘assault weapons ban’ that Jay Inslee signed into law last year!

Thanks to your help, we filed a massive amicus brief onto Federal Lawsuits against this newly enacted law.

As you know, this new law bans the sale of AR-15s and 62 other firearms. It even banned the sale of the parts needed to maintain these firearms that are currently in circulation!

Legislation like this has always been unconstitutional.

But in the wake of the Bruen decision from the United States Supreme Court, this law is clearly illegal as there is zero ‘historical precedent’ for it, despite what lower courts might be saying.

That’s what these lawsuits are centered on.

The lawsuits are filed. Our Amicus Brief has been filed. The next phase will be a bench trial later this year. If we lose in District Court, the case will be appealed to the 9^th Circuit.

And that’s the fastest way for us to get this case in front of the United States Supreme Court which is our main objective!

But this isn’t cheap. And we need to be ready.

So if you think our top priority in 2024 needs to be winning the fight in Federal Court, please mark OPTION #4 “FIGHT IN FEDERAL COURT” on your ballot.

I’m sure you can see why I’m so torn.

This isn’t an either/or situation. We need to stop Biden’s AR-15 ban, block mental health exams and civil liability insurance requirements on gun owners here, and fight in court!

But I must be realistic.

Right now, I just don’t have the funds to run a full-scale program on all four of these fronts at the same time. 

That’s why I’m counting on you to please fill out your Washington Gun Rights Member Ballot and tell me where to focus the resources that we have.

Of course, when you do so, you’ll notice that I have included another option on your membership ballot — an option that we haven’t talked about yet because it’s just not possible without a major influx of funds.

But I’ll be blunt, this is the option I hope you will choose.

And that is OPTION #5: “BLOCK BIDEN’S AR-15 BAN, FIGHT AGAINST GUN CONTROL IN OLYMPIA, AND CONTINUE THE FIGHT IN FEDERAL COURT. DON’T GIVE AN INCH, FIGHT EVERYWHERE!”

Please understand that if you choose Option #5, it’s vital that you include a generous donation to help us fight on all fronts.

In fact, with everything we are facing, I hope you’ll consider an immediate donation of $100 or more!

I know I’m asking a lot.

But with Biden and Jay Inslee on the rampage, we need to fight as hard as we can in 2024 to hold the line for freedom!

So if $100 isn’t possible, won’t you please agree to $75, $50, $25 or at least $17.76?

The legislature will convene in just a few days; I need to hear from you as soon as possible.
