Growing up in a small town in the 1980’s I felt a sense of calm, of peace, in my day-to-day life.

I rode my bike to school every day. I hitchhiked with my friends to go swimming in the sandpit before we could drive. The best Little League games were always played under the lights.

The day I turned 16, I got my license, bought a Dodge Dakota, and proudly put my scoped Ruger 10/22 behind the seat.

I was living an Andy Griffith lifestyle, but I didn’t know it. Part of that was because of the environment my parents created for me. But mostly, the world was just better back then. 

The government largely left people alone. Corporations didn’t ram a ‘woke’ agenda down our throats. And schools taught kids to question government overreach, not their own gender.

I’m sure you have a story that is similar to mine.

These days, it seems like every part of the government (from our local school boards to the White House) is trying to force us to fall into line — or face the consequences.

And that’s what Jay Inslee and Joe Biden are trying to do: completely disarm Washingtonians and the American people.

What you and I do over the next couple of years will decide if our gun rights (and our freedoms) remain intact, or not.

That’s why I hope that you will immediately renew your membership in Washington Gun Rights for 2024, so that we can continue fighting for you in Federal Court and in Olympia.

Next year will be a pivotal one for gun owners. There are at least three major fights facing WGR members.

First, we must get ready for a showdown in Federal Court with Jay Inslee over the AR-15 ban that was passed into law earlier this year.

This new so-called ‘assault weapons ban’ is totally unconstitutional. That’s because it:

• Made it a crime to buy an AR-15 or any one of over 62 other specifically mentioned semi-automatic rifles, even though these are the most common rifles in Washington State!
• Made it a crime to buy many different kinds of semi- automatic shotguns if they include accessories like a collapsible stock, which makes them easier to handle!
• Made it a crime to buy handguns if they have one of a variety of features, including threaded barrels, which are very popular with handgun owners these days!

The bill has been signed. And it is now law, as we all know. But that’s not going to be last word on this.

Last year’s Bruen decision made it clear that ANY current or future gun control laws needed to show a ‘historical precedent’ to have any chance of surviving a court challenge.

There is ZERO historical precedent for this. Americans ALWAYS had rifles that were equal to — or better than — the rifles owned by government.

It was that way for the Colonials in 1776 and it’s still the case today!

That’s why we’ve joined a federal lawsuit against Jay Inslee in Federal Court with a hard hitting Amicus Brief.

The initial lawsuit was rejected by a liberal judge.

That was expected.

But now this case is headed to a bench trial. Now, that could go our way and we could repeal the law. If that happens, the State of Washington will appeal.

Or we could lose at this level, in which case, our side will be appealing this case to the 9^th Circuit.

Of course, for my entire life, the 9^th ‘Circus’ has been one of the most liberal circuit courts in America.

But when he was President, Trump reshuffled the deck, appointing close to a dozen judges to the circuit.

So it’s a new day in the 9^th Circuit. And, regardless of what happens in Circuit Court, whichever side loses will likely appeal their defeat to the United States Supreme Court.

Each step in this fight is required. And each step is expensive. But we don’t have any other choice, to maintain this fight, I’m going to need your help.

But the legal battle isn’t the only reason why I hope you’ll renew your membership in Washington Gun Rights!

The simple fact of the matter is that while we are fighting to stop the AR-15 ban in Federal Court, Jay Inslee wants to advance two more gun control bills next year.

And at the top of his list is mental health gun control!

While this might sound like something out of a history book from the last century, I assure you, this is a very real threat that may become a front and center issue in Olympia.

If passed into law, this legislation would force you to submit to a mental health exam each time you try to buy a gun!

Inslee’s goal is simple: he and his Commie friends here in Olympia want the ability to snap their fingers and disarm their political opponents without having to convict us in court.

And these bogus mental health tests are the tool they need to do exactly that.

Because let’s face it: if you admit to loving our country, our flag, our Second Amendment, or our Founding Fathers, you’re not going to pass this ‘test.’ In fact, you’ll likely be labeled a domestic terrorist by the Biden Administration.

It wouldn’t matter if you’ve not been charged with a crime!

It wouldn’t matter if you have a spotless record!

It wouldn’t matter if you’ve been a gun owner for decades!

That’s because this bill isn’t about public safety. It’s just a tool for our psychotic Governor to use as he tries to break the backs of gun owners in Washington State for good.

Could we overturn this in court? Probably. Years later.

It would be far better for us to crush it here in Olympia.

Because even while Inslee wants to pass this legislation, there are a core group of Democrats in the legislature who are truly scared that this bill may cost them their seats!

So if we can continue to hammer on these more vulnerable members of the legislature (especially in the Senate), we may be able to stop mental health gun control in 2024.

And for that, I’m counting on your help! So please renew your membership in Washington Gun Rights today.

But insiders are also reporting that Jay Inslee wants to mandate that all gun owners possess civil liability insurance as a condition of owning a gun!

This is absurd.

There is zero ‘historical precedent’ for this, so it flies in the face of the Bruen decision.

And, of course, after Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler made it a civil crime to sell this kind of insurance in Washington State back in 2019, it’s impossible to obtain.

The deeper issue is that it won’t stop criminals in Tacoma, Spokane, Seattle, Fife, or anywhere else. The only people impacted by this stupid legislation are law abiding gun owners like you and me!

But this is on purpose.

Jay Inslee WANTS to enact policies that lead to crime, upheaval, and a sense of hopelessness. He wants to create the problem (crime) and then create the solution (more gun control.)

And because civil liability insurance mandates aren’t as in your face as mental health gun control, this legislation may garner much more support in Olympia.

That’s why we need to hammer on this, the moment the 2024 session resumes next year!

But running these programs — at the size we’ll need to run them — isn’t cheap. And after the massive amount we just spent fighting against Inslee’s AR-15 ban in Federal Court, I’m counting on your support to help us fight in 2024!

In fact, with everything that we’re facing, I hope that you will agree to a membership renewal of $125 or even a lifetime membership of $1,000!

I know that I’m asking a lot, but we’re going to be in a massive fight next session and WGR must be able to fight in Federal Court and a two-front war in Olympia.

So if $125 isn’t an option, please consider $75 or $35!

Some people prefer to give up…to let Inslee and the Radical Left in Olympia win without even trying to stop them.

But as the father of seven children, that’s just not an option for me. We MUST hold the line, for the next generation!

So we’re going to fight as long and hard as we can to protect our Second Amendment rights. We’re going to fight in federal court. We’re going to fight in Olympia. We’re going to fight in the Supreme Court. And together, we’ll win!
