Washington’s legislative session is officially underway in Olympia — and Democrats are already moving fast.
Bob Ferguson and his allies are trying to finish what they started last year: passing SB-5098.
SB-5098 was one of the most dangerous gun control bills we fought last session. It passed the Senate, but we killed it in the House.
This bill would ban guns in parks, fairs, beaches, community centers, water parks, performing arts centers, playgrounds, and virtually every state or local government building statewide.
But now, with session underway and Ferguson’s allies emboldened, they are trying to ram SB-5098 — or something even worse — through the Capitol as fast as possible.
We need to get loud right now.

Here’s the specifics on this bill:
👉 It disarms law-abiding citizens in almost every public place you use with your family — parks, fairs, community centers, beaches, and public buildings.
👉 It creates massive new “Gun Free Zones” that criminals will ignore, turning everyday locations into soft targets.
👉 It pretends to “compromise” with a concealed carry carve-out that everyone in Olympia knows will be stripped out later.
👉 It advances Bob Ferguson’s long-term strategy to disarm Washington State, one step at a time.
And now that session is underway, the sponsors are lining up.
These are the Senate Democrats who are pushing SB-5098:

These lawmakers are actively pushing a bill that would turn much of Washington into a maze of “Gun Free Zones” — leaving families defenseless and criminals unchecked.
If we don’t push back early, they’ll line up the votes and lock in the media narrative before most gun owners even realize what’s happening.
That’s how bad bills pass in Olympia.
